Mateo Gutierrez

Originally from Colombia, Mateo has been tattooing professionally for over 11 years, building his career across South and Central America before moving to New York City in 2023. Joining Black Velvet Ink as a Guest Artist for the month of August, Mateo specializes in large-scale geometric and blackwork designs. While these styles are his primary focus, he welcomes a wide range of ideas and collaborations. Outside of tattooing, Mateo loves spending time with his wife and new baby, listening to and dancing salsa, and meeting new people wherever he goes.
